Camp Ruach Art Studio Fundraiser
JCC Camp Ruach is seeking funding support for the development of a brand-new state of the art, Art Studio. Our camp prides itself on offering a variety of age appropriate programming to all of our campers, focusing on a variety of program areas. The goal from every activity is for campers to grow their skillset and expand their knowledge base and gain exposure to new activities. We are constantly seeking ways to continue elevating our programs, to push programmatic barriers, and to develop new ways for campers to grow and learn. The creation of the new Art Studio will allow us to continue meeting our mission and fulfilling our RUACH! values at Camp Ruach.
If you believe in the spirit of summer camp, we invite you to support Camp Ruach!

Art is one of the core programs which stands at the center of our camp design. We spend a significant amount of time each year working with the Art Director to develop a new and unique curriculum which draws connection and parallels to the weeks’ themes and Jewish values and introduces new mediums and modalities to campers. We want campers to develop pieces of art that represent unique versions of themselves and help them to connect to their inner artist.
At the center of our campgrounds is our camp building. While nearly every space is already utilized and claimed for other purposes, there remains an untouched space which currently serves as storage. This space was a former locker room equipped with shower stalls and as a result, will require significant work to shift the space from its former use to its new design. Our dream for a few years has been to convert this space into a state-of-the-art art studio. This studio would serve as the hub and center of art at camp and would introduce campers to new forms of fine arts. The Art Studio would feature pottery and ceramics and will be equipped with multiple pottery wheels and a firing kiln. We would also build in a wood working shop where campers will learn how to use various wood working tools while creating unique pieces of art. There will be work stations setup throughout the room, proper slop sink and cleaning station installed, and appropriate art storage and drying systems installed. The design of the studio will be such that a variety of art mediums will be able to be taught and explored in the art studio, even if they will not be introduced in the pilot year. It will be setup as a space where the ideas and possibilities are endless.
