It had been very easy this summer getting my kids up each morning. They were so excited about their plans for their day at Camp Ruach. They’d come home singing the songs and telling stories of their adventures at camp. My son, Tate couldn’t stop wandering around the house rehearsing his lines and singing the soundtrack from the play Annie that he took part in. The staff at Camp Ruach make an impact on everyone they come in contact with.
The counselors are fantastic, friendly, fun and most of all engaging. From the bottom of my heart I thank you all for giving my children a camp they can call home. A place to run to when school lets out. A place where they can be themselves because they know they are embraced regardless. They are already planning to return next year. I love having the confidence while I’m at work that the children are able to be active and social in a safe and fun environment. I wish every child in the world could be lucky enough to have a Camp Ruach experience! Thank you for all that you have done for us.
Love,
The Hyman Family
We’ve been very happy with the Summer day camp and swimming lessons. I’m always impressed with anyone from the office I speak to–whether it’s the camp office or the regular office/membership. Everyone is very nice and helpful.

Our son has been going to camp since he was three years old, he loves riding the bus and seeing all of his friends. Camp Ruach offers a wide variety of activities for all ages and there is always something new and fun to do! The staff at camp are loving and caring, they make our son feel like family.

Just a quick note to tell you that the kids are so happy and are having a fantastic time at Camp. I was nervous for them this week, but the teachers/counselors could not be sweeter and better, and they’ve made the transition seamless.
We are very thankful. I absolutely love getting the updates on Tadpole of Elle. They make my day at work, and I love the camp website with the pictures and videos.

I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank you. Emmet’s first summer at the JCC was a huge success! It was a difficult transition for me as I was used to having him in my building at all times. However, I felt from the minute he walked in he was in great hands. He definitely gained some new skills and confidence that we haven’t seen before. Thank you for always answering my emails and questions. Lastly, thank you again for keeping him safe and happy! Have a great year!
Thanks,

I want to express my sincere gratitude to the JCC family for providing my twins Gabriella and Gianni with an unbelievable summer at Camp Ruach this year. This was their first time going to day camp and they really enjoyed their summer.
My oldest daughter Elena has Down Syndrome. She has had wonderful opportunities to attend sleep away camp because of the amazing generosity and kindness of others. She’s been to Elks Camp Moore, Camp Fatima and Camp PALS. Although I was extremely nervous to send her at first, when she returned I saw how much she loved camp and how important the camp experience is for her. Again these opportunities would not be possible without the generosity of those who believe in what their camps have to offer children. She did beautifully from her first time away and never looked back at drop off. She comes back from her week away a little more independent and having made beautiful new memories and new friends.
That being said, I have learned the importance of the camp experience in a child’s life. When the opportunity arose for the twins to attend JCC Camp Ruach, they were a little nervous but they said their older sister is very brave to go to sleep away camp so they could try day camp. They had lots of fun every day and especially loved many of the weekly trips. They got to experience a jammed packed fun summer with many learning experiences and adventures.
It was evident to me from camp orientation and beyond, that the people who are behind the scenes and involved in the day to day operation of making Camp Ruach so great is because they love what they do and want to make every single day of camp special for each child. It was a pleasure dealing with the entire staff and I truly appreciate the excellent communication that was provided. I knew my children were in good hands every day from the time they were picked up until the time they were dropped off.
Gabi and Gianni could not have gone to camp or had such a great experience had it not been for the generosity of the sponsors who believe in the JCC vision and the values the JCC shares with their families and the community. I would also like to thank Eli, Stacey, Lauren, Sandi, Carol, Michelle, Caryn and Ken the twins’ bus driver. They made my children and me feel so welcome from day one as a part of the JCC family.
I know there are many that make JCC Camp Ruach happen, so thanks again to all who made this experience for the twins possible. It is not something we take for granted and so appreciate the opportunity and generosity that has been shown to our family. Have a wonderful rest of the summer!
Sincerely,
Donna, Gianni & Gabriella Mazzeo
