Staff Frequently Asked Questions
What are the camp dates and working hours?
- June 23 - August 15, 2025; 8:30AM - 4:30PM
- Staff have the opportunity to earn additional compensation by taking on the following roles:
- Early Care Counselor (7:30AM - 8:45AM)
- Late Stay Counselor (Until 6:00PM)
- Bus Counselor
Is transportation included?
- Staff have the option to work as bus counselors where they are compensated for supervising a bus route to and from camp. The bus would pick-up and drop-off at the bus counselor’s house.
- If staff are interested in riding the bus but not working as a bus counselor, they may be assigned to a pre-existing camper stop when available. They must request this by June 1.
What are the staff training dates?
- Sunday, June 1 - New Staff Orientation 10:00AM - 2:00PM
- Wednesday, June 4 - All Staff Training 5:00PM - 8:30PM
- Thursday, June 5 - All Staff Training 5:00PM - 8:30PM
- Monday, June 9 - All Staff Training 5:00PM - 8:30PM
- Tuesday, June 10 - All Staff Training 5:00PM - 8:30PM
Is it required to attend all staff training dates?
- Yes, it is required to attend all staff training dates that correspond to your position.
What goes into the compensation package?
- Salary
- Summer membership to the Bridgewater JCC and use of its fitness center, classes, and indoor pool
- Daily lunch when on-site

Do I have to be Jewish to work at camp?
- Camp Ruach is open to everyone! You do not have to be Jewish.
What if I have to miss a day (or more) of work?

- There is a question on the staff application that asks all applicants to list any date conflicts they may have during the camp season. Camp does their best to accommodate any absences (within reason and with enough advance notice). Pre-existing date conflicts will be discussed with the interviewer at the time of the interview. Any unexpected absences during the summer should be requested as promptly as possible to the staff member’s direct supervisor or to the camp director.
