Giving Opportunities

If you believe in the spirit of summer camp, we invite you to support Camp Ruach! 

Funds raised will go toward a NEW Camp Locker Rooms; a male, female, and a single all gender/family locker room.

Every $2 donated there will be a $1 match from the Harold Grinspoon Foundation. All donations above $136 will also receive a circle on our spirit fence. 

Inquire with your employer about a corporate match. 

All donations are impactful and we thank you in advance for your support.

JCC Camp Ruach believes EVERY child should be able to attend camp regardless of their financial need. Each dollar donation helps to give another child the opportunity to experience all the amazing programs that Camp Ruach has to offer. We have two camp specific funds that you can give as a one-time donation, annually or monthly.

BENJAMIN M. BUTLER CAMP SCHOLARSHIP FUND
In memory of a camp alumni who loved spending his summers at JCC Camp Ruach. So every child can go to camp.

SUSAN GOLDBERG SCHOLARSHIP FUND
In memory of a camp parent who believed strongly in the importance of camping for all children. So every child can go to camp.

Double your gift to the SSBJCC each year!
Many companies (such as Ethicon, MetLife, Verizon, and more) match employee contributions to charitable organizations. You can double your donation and double the impact for the SSBJCC! Here’s how:

Make a donation and be sure to keep the thank you letter from us, since many corporate matching programs will give you up to one year after your donation to request a match.

After 6 weeks of super hard work and dedication, the Camp Ruach production of “Shrek, Jr.” will be performed on Wednesday evening, July 30th.

Parents, families and friends have the opportunity to buy a “J-Shout” for the cast and crew of the show. These shout-outs will appear in our J-Bill program that is given out to all who attend the show.

Please click here for examples and details. All money collected will go directly to our Benjamin Butler Memorial Camp Scholarship Fun. This fund enables children to attend Camp Ruach who might not otherwise have the financial means to do so.

Cameo, a popular craze, offers personalized video messages from famous personalities. A couple of current celebrities offering their greeting are Debra Messing, Miss Rachel, Chuck Norris, and Johnny McIntyre (“Love Is Blind” star and former Camp Ruach camper!)

How awesome would it be for your camper(s) to receive a video from THEIR superstar?  A favorite Counselor, Unit Head, Camp Nurse or even your Camp Directors will be happy to record a greeting to be sent out in the future.  A special “Happy Birthday”, “Good Luck At School”, “Happy Chanukah” or “Just Because” video can be purchased in this very special fundraiser.

Preparing for your Bar or Bat Mitzvah is an amazing time in your life, a culmination of your energy, excitement, hard work and achievement. Mazel Tov! Combining your love of camp with this exciting rite of passage is a wonderful way to give back. Consider these opportunities for Mitzvah projects:

SCHOLARSHIP Donation
Camp Ruach believes every child should attend camp regardless of financial need. Asking for donations to camp scholarship as your Mitzvah project is a wonderful way to “pay it forward” and send another child to camp. Want to take it to another level? See if you can get a company to match your donation.

SUPPLIES FOR CAMP
Whether brand new or lightly used, camp can always use equipment for sports, art and other areas of camp. Mix your favorite activity with a drive for supplies for Camp Ruach. Contact Alanna Steinberg, Camp Director,  to see what items are currently needed. 

VOLUNTEER
Throughout the year, there are many areas for volunteering at the JCC. From helping with our garden, to volunteering at our Sunday respite program for children with special needs, to helping out at our community and family wide programs. The options are endless!

Tribute cards are a wonderful way to celebrate a life event (birthday, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, anniversary, wedding, etc.) They are also a wonderful way to teach Tzedakah (charity).

Tribute cards are also available to send condolences or caring thoughts to friends and family while supporting JCC Camp Ruach. With a minimum donation of $18, Camp Ruach will send out a tribute letter on your behalf.

Please be sure to include the tribute details in the tribute section of the online form.

Select the amount you would like to donate and fill out the dedication section. Next to the name of the honoree, please include the address you will like card sent to, and a message you would like included in it. Your honoree will receive the personalized tribute card.
